China conducted its first archeological exploration of the No. 1 wreck in the slope undercurrent of the northwestern South China Sea on Saturday. The "Deep Sea Warrior" manned submersible dove 1,500 meters to photograph the area and place permanent map markers.

It was the shipreck from the ming dynasty. So many porcelain which i think will be delivered to thr northern part of china as this porcelain was made by ancient porcelain village in china.

If they were meant for northern China they would have been shipped on the Grand Canal
I think they were meant for export to other countries

These porcelains were exported out via the Maritime Silk Road that connected Southeast Asia, China, the Indian subcontinent, the Arabian peninsula, Somalia, Egypt and Europe. The date of artifacts dating back to the reign of Emperor Zhengde of the Ming Dynasty (1506-1521). Likely destination to be Southeast asia as the trade routes were reestablished after a brief cessation of Chinese trade in the 14th century due to internal famines and droughts in China.

What would be interesting is finding the ice age outlet for the Yangtze river and the ice age civilizations the lived on it's banks near the sea. The ice ages actually last long than the warm periods and that history was buried under the hundreds of meters of water and mud, crushed by the waves but some of it could still survive buried by ten thousand years of sediment.
So want happened to the China ice age civilizations crushed by hundreds of meters of sea level rise and what can be found of them.
Ice age civilizations one the great questions about humanity yet to be answered to any extent at all.
