In the Westren countries, they value skilled labour. In the Westren countries they respect working class and pay more skilled labour. The Bright Future is possible for maybe 4–5% of Graduates who graduate from IITs or Premium A List Universities or one of the Top B Schools.

US or UK dont want these students. They have enough bright students now among their own citizens including many third generation and fourth generation Asians, second generation Indians etc.

The answer is simple. We prefer quality of life rather than the projected bright future in future which no body is interested as it's not sure what sort of brightness it will be…..

First see the Indian population. Second India has declared itself 70 percent backward. No other country in world does it. 70% is some form of backward, so reserve jobs for those backward. Then there us lot of racism, India is more racist than European only it is passive. Outsider cannot see it. Most people who want to move abroad, not all are the smartest people who looking for better future want to immigrate. They see no future in India. Again in companies there is dirty politics. You just cannot escape it. Then there is promotion by relationship. There are lot of idiots vegetarian owners who would promote the person just because they are vegetarian. Lot of BS thinking exsts in India. In end some of the brightest mind want to immigrate, there are others who are not bright but have money , go abroad to study and settle there. So it is very complex, impossible for a European, East Asian to understand it.

Never lived in Canada. We migrated to Australia in early 90s as skilled migrants. We had a decent life in India by any standard, a good job, bunglow , car etc. Back in our time a large number of experienced engineers migrated to Australia as Indian economy was stagnant and waiting to be liberalised. In my experience I had seen very few of these migrants went back to India. Similarly, in seventies many professionals went to USA from India with the intention of making some money and come back. But very few did. It is not the lack of patriotism that pulled back the educated Indians from returning. In my view it is the lack of economic opportunities in India held them back. Economy in India was in the grasp of bureaucrats, most of the organised sector was under Government control, highly regulated which served the interests of politicians and the bureaucracy as all plum public sector jobs were reserved for the retired and serving bureaucrats and ex military officers. Obviously the bright and deserving left India in droves and made their fortune in Western countries. Once Indians get used to the true de ocracy, the rule of law, functioning bureaucracy, health care and social service in their new new country they opt to stay back despite the cultural ties with India.

Like a food chain. Shortage of labour world wide, need for skilled and blue collar immigrants, so many aspiring working class in india increasing over the years all contribute to the migration. World now is a lot more integrated before 20 years ago when going abroad was viewed as something special.
