NEW DELHI: Taking cognisance of the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation, the adjudicating authority for Fema has issued showcause notices to iaomi Technology India Pvt Ltd, its officials and three banks — CITI Bank, HSBC Bank and Deutsche Bank AG — for allowing foreign outward remittances in the name of royalty to the tune of Rs 5,551 crore without conducting due diligence. The ED had earlier seized this equivalent amount in the bank accounts of X iaomi in India.

“The adjudicating authority has issued showcause notices to iaomi Technology India Pvt Ltd, its officials and three banks under section 16 of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (Fema) on the basis of a complaint filed by the ED with respect to illegal remittances made by the company to the tune of Rs 5,551.27 crore,” the ED said on Friday.

印度执法局（ED）6月9日发布文件称，因涉嫌违反该国《外汇管理法》（FEMA），“向外国实体非法转移资金555.1亿卢比”，该局已经向小米技术印度私人有限公司、部分高管及花旗银行、汇丰银行和德意志银行等三家银行发出正式通知。

出于该指控，印度当局此前已经扣押了小米共555.1亿卢比资金（约6.8亿美元），现价近50亿元人民币。数据显示，小米集团2022年经调整净利润为人民币85亿元，也就是说，这笔资金相当于小米去年净利润的57%。
