BHOPAL: Why punish us with bulldozer action, asked the family of Pravesh Shukla, who has been arrested under NSA for urinating on a tribal community man, reports P Naveen. The administration on Wednesday demolished the house he lived in, rendering homeless his wife, toddler daughter and elderly parents. "It's heartbreaking for us. It was neither his (Pravesh's) house, nor did it belong to his parents. It was my father's house, built by my grandmother. Now we have nowhere to go, and we are struggling to find food. I can't even cook a simple meal for my three-year-old daughter. This is a grave injustice," Pravesh's wife Kanchan said, sitting amid the rubble that was their home.

The major portion of their house has been razed to the ground, leaving them without shelter or sustenance. Neighbours gave biscuits to the child and one of them allowed them to move into his porch, seeing them take shelter under a tree. The family pleaded for mercy.

To demolish house for this crime is uncalled for. He should be dealt with as per the laws of the land and his family should be spared of this ordeal. If there are other reasons for demolishing the house, Govt should come out ang give details to justify demolishing his house and at the same time should make some arrangement for his family who is affected by this

As per earlier report, only one third of the house, which was constructed illegally was razed. Why this "trying to garner sympathy" article ? Agreed that the family wasn't responsible for it, but certainly in the 'Illegal Extension' they had their role?

Why punished the whole family for one member crime. and why charge him under NSA, the court will junk the charges, the more appropriate charges would be under the atrocities against SC/ST act.

While what Pravesh did to the tribal man is unpardonable and he should face the full force of the law though destroying his house which even doesn't belong to him and making his family homeless esp his elderly parents and a little child is not justifiable. Authorities are out of control in using their power. I believe this was done without any court order or due to an encroachment hence the local authority is responsible to pay all damages.
