Tata Group, the owner of Jaguar Land Rover, has announced it will invest £4bn to build an electric car battery giga factory in the UK.

The factory is expected to be sited in Somerset and to bring 4,000 new skilled jobs to the area. It will become one of Europe’s largest battery cell manufacturing sites when it starts production in 2026

For those who are asking why Tata isn't making it in India, you see there are multiple reasons, first of all there would be great taxes imposed if things are imported, moreover tata has overtaken British brands like jaguar and rangerover, so importing batteries for their own brands would be very costly. Moreover Tata already has many industries in India already

Remember what PM Churchill had said about the Indian Independence. Now that India has overtaken Britain as the 5th largest economy of the world, it is painful for them.
