Five transportation megaprojects are under construction throughout Mumbai, a city of 25 million.
The megaprojects: Mumbai Metro, Coastal Road, Sewri-Worli Elevated Corridor flyover, Trans Harbour Link, and Navi Mumbai International Airport.

Thanks for making this. I know this is a bit of marketing, but if all these projects are completed, it will completely transform Mumbai.

It is disappointing to me that America is losing its ability to execute large projects that can correct long term infrastructure needs.

There's a difference between developed nations and develo nations. We are a develo nations, the fastest in the world at that. For the kind of population USA has, the infrastructure can handle it. India has to think about 1.4 billion people, not just a few hundred million. We have a much bigger task than any other nation on earth. Everything India does, is being done on a massive scale, we are playing a totally different game on a different level.

3rd largest economy??? We are a country of 1400 million people trying to overtake countries like Germany and Japan which are the size of Maharashtra. Also per capita GDP matters when it comes to distribution of wealth and India still lags way behind in this.

I was born and raised in this city, but eventually, I moved out. Unfortunately, it has become worse over time, with increasing traffic, severe water logging, and deteriorating infrastructure. Even at 1 am-midnight, you can get stuck in traffic.

This city might be manageable for those who have been living here for a long time and have become accustomed to the crowds and traffic. However, if you are moving in from outside, you might find it difficult to wait until you can leave.

About 10 years ago, the conditions were not as bad as they are now. Currently, the city has experienced an explosion in population growth, leading to issues with overpopulation, inadequate infrastructure, and poor planning. It's uncertain what the situation will be like in another 10 years.

The problem with indian cities is the urban planning, they are just making it work. Not creating economies of scale. You can shrink mumbai to half with big parks and other amenities if you start building 40-50 story buildings. It will reduce the fuel consumption, reduce pollution, save electricity, and overall improve the quality of life.

Nice to see India is gallo forward with infrastructure and GDP growth. However, keep in mind - optimal Gini index is the mother of development. The main goal always has to be good life quality for all citizens. Hopefully this rapid development won't be focused solely into race against China or to fill already rich pockets.

As an indian my respect for Chinese transforming their cities to top world class standards just in few decades is monumental achievement that India can never even dream of doing half of it.

I was in Mumbai last year and I must say the City is very poorly managed. Never seen such horrible traffic or terrible traffic management. Every square inch of the City is dug up and there is no regard for public safety where construction is happening.

India got it's independence earlier than China did yet China has been faster to develop, even when changing their name to Mumbai from Bombay they had to ask the British for permission. If India was to transform it would've done so already.
