Turkey has issued a warning to Russia after the Russian Navy attacked a Turkish-owned ship in Black Sea last Sunday. The Turkish presidency said that following the incident with the ship, counterparts from Russia are warned in an appropriate way to avoid these kinds of attempts that will escalate tensions in the Black Sea.On Sunday, Russia said in a statement its Vasily Bykov patrol ship had fired automatic weapons on the Palau-flagged Sukru Okan vessel after the ship's captain failed to respond to a request to halt for an inspection.

Turkey should have been fully aware that the Black Sea is subject to Russia inspections ..

Also it were flying Palau flag even if it is owned by Turkey .. Even in normal situation if ship carry contraband goods the owner vessel will be searched and seized as the party that chartered it could be suspect .. As the vessel did not stop which makes it suspicious, shots are fired and Russia has the right .. and acted in a professional manner .

If it were Iran it be a different story
