Q1 GDP data: Indian economy grows 7.8% in April-June quarter, government data shows

NEW DELHI: India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 7.8 per cent in the April-June quarter of FY 24, compared to 13.1% growth rate witnessed in Q1 of FY 2022-23, data released by government showed.

Thursday's figure was the highest in four quarters, with official statistics showing on-year growth of 12.2 percent for the financial, real estate and professional services sectors.

As per the NSO data, the agriculture sector recorded a 3.5 per cent growth, up from 2.4 per cent in the April-June quarter of 2022-23.

However, the growth in the manufacturing sector decelerated to 4.7 per cent in the first quarter of the current fiscal compared to 6.1 per cent in the year-ago period.

The nominal GDP or GDP at current prices in Q1 2023-24 is estimated at Rs 70.67 lakh crore, as against Rs 65.42 lakh crore in Q1 2022-23, showing a growth of 8 percent as compared to 27.7 percent in Q1 2022-23, data showed.

Very good. But still not 10%. Clearly family and caste based run states are acting as dead weight. 10% annual growth rate is a necessity to get India to 10 T economy by 2030-32.

Indian economy is booming because corruption and leakages in infrastructure development are minimal, there is a positivity in industrial production and FDI is coming at fast pace. Only hard pressed are mid Income people as they are not able to save for the future as high Income Tax is eating their savings. Low income group is getting all government benefits and many among them by falls declarations in their income. The opposition corrupt parties are fighting for their survival and making uncalled for accusations and spreading negativity.

In 2004 GDP was 720 billion dollars and in 2014 it was 2.1 tillion dollars. GDP grew almost 300% in 10 years during 2004-14. By 2024 the GDP will be 3.4 trillion dollars from 2.1 trillion dollars is 2014. So in 10 years during 2014-2024 GDP will grow just 65%. Now compare who was good in economic growth and who is good in pum up fake economic numbers despite minimal economic growth. Numbers and facts speak for themselves. Fake and fudged falsehood can't defeat the genuine economic expertise.

As per google search, the World Bank statement in June 2023 - India would remain the fastest-growing economy in terms of both aggregate and per capita gross domestic product (GDP) among the largest emerging market and develo economies. It retained India's FY24 growth forecast at 6.3 per cent.
