A Chinese footwear manufacturer says his factory in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, has created over 8,000 local jobs in the last 12 years since its opening. Now, he is looking to expand his business across East Africa. One of the company's managers says he's confident in the future, thanks to not only the long-term friendship between Ethiopia and China, but Ethiopia's membership in the BRICS bloc of develo nations.

I really appreciate this program, and I think it would be best to do more of this in Africa to see what the Chinese are really doing for the local government and population since many Chinese factories have a negative reputation in Africa with the locals.

@Ahahahhaaah in the USA , only have per hour payment law , not monthly law . Companies and factories in the USA won’t hire full time workers because they have to pay the insurance bill for them. Also in China, the minimum wage is 300 too . If higher than China in Ethiopia , whats the point of those companies will move to overseas? Also China GDP per capital is 1/6 of the USA , you can’t compared the salaries to Americans, economic is something you have to develop step by step , those kind of factories are not exsted in the USA . They moved out 20 years ago

It does not matter. The thing is that it shows the truth. This is an example of China-Ethiopia win-win cooperation, which means that both sides benefit! That is the main thing! This is what the develo nations need - more cooperation, more development, bringing more and more people out of poverty!

Forget about receiving anything free. If you are a doctor ,I don't think you will give your services free. We hate beggars but we respect hardworking people.
