NEW DELHI: Reacting to International Monetary Fund's (IMF) report forecasting India's economic growth for the current fiscal year at 6.3% from 6.1% earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the country a global bright spot.

国际货币基金组织（IMF）将印度本财年的经济增长率从之前预测的6.1%上调至6.3%，对此，莫迪总理回应称印度是全球的亮点。

"Powered by the strength and skills of our people, India is a global bright spot, a powerhouse of growth and innovation. We will continue to strengthen our journey towards a prosperous India, further boosting our reforms trajectory," tweeted PM Modi.

“在我们人民的力量和技能的推动下，印度成为了全球的亮点，是增长和创新的动力源泉。我们将继续推进印度走向繁荣的进程，进一步推动我们的改革轨迹，”莫迪总理发推文说。

"Growth in India is projected to remain strong, at 6.3% in both 2023 and 2024, with an upward revision of 0.2 percentage points for 2023, reflecting stronger-than-expected consumption during April-June," the IMF said.

国际货币基金组织表示：“印度的经济增长预计将保持强劲，2023年和2024年都将达到6.3%，2023年的增长率将上调0.2个百分点，这反映出4月至6月的消费强于预期。”

The Reserve Bank of India has projected consumer price index (CPI)-based inflation for the current fiscal year at 5.4% while GDP growth is seen at 6.5%.

印度储备银行预计，本财年基于消费者价格指数(CPI)的通货膨胀率为5.4%，而GDP增长率为6.5%。

Monetary policy projections are consistent with achieving the Indian central bank's inflation target over the medium term, the IMF said.

The country's current account deficit is expected to remain at 1.8% of GDP in FY24 and FY25, the IMF added.
