NEW DELHI: At least four people have been killed and several others sustained injured after six coaches of the Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express derailed in Bihar's Buxar on Wednesday. The superfast train derailed around 9.35pm near Raghunathpur station. At least two AC III Tier coaches toppled while four other coaches jumped the tracks, as per reports.

The injured passengers were rushed to nearest hospitals.

Reason behind mishap to be investigated

"4 casualties have been confirmed ... 21 coaches have derailed," Tarun Prakash, general manager of East Central Railways (ECR) said. He further said that the reason behind the incident would be investigated after the rescue operation was over.

“已确认有4人伤亡……有21节车厢出轨。”东部中央铁路(ECR)总经理Tarun Prakash说。他进一步表示，救援行动结束后，将调查事故原因。

Meanwhile, Union railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed that the evacuation and rescue operations have been completed.

"Evacuation and rescue are complete. All coaches checked. Passengers will be shifted to a special train soon for their onward journey," Vaishnaw said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

there was a CBI enquiry to deflect blame from incompetence of railway ministry for a 3 train accident in Orissa. nothing came out of it. same will happen here. PM is more busy in waving flags for Vande Bharat instead of having railway ministry maintain and upgrade exsting infrastructure
