One of the lesser known fact is that ChIna have opened heavily subsidized medical clinics in Africa, staffed by Chinese specialist doctors. They get to fly in their family to spend a holiday in Africa as a gesture of appreciation for leaving their families in China to serve 2 to 3 years in Africa. At the end of their term, a new team is rotated in. China the quiet achiever.

America also changed the world in the last decade. Let's not forget that. It changed the world for the WORSE.  It left Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq, Syria, Haiti, Venezuela, etc., devastated and poorer.  China changed the world for the better. More prosperity, more jobs, better health, happier, etc.

Before BRI was introduced, China first start from it own infrastructures, to set example that they could replicate it in other countries. Can US do it in their country first? They don't even have high speed rail. How can they even offer anything of tangible?Words is cheap. It's the mind set. Be proactive, not reactive

China has built total 42,000 km high speed rails in only 20 years, while the US still has 0 km.  Obama and California kicked off the California high speed rail project about 10 years ago, nobody knows or even cares if it will ever complete

China has improved and developed at such a rapid rate that it leaves US, UK and EU ga for breath. It will  take US/EU many more years  to catch up but by then China would be at the pinnacle.  The US/EU  only progress is to add in more sanctions which are  toothless and meaningless.

China subscribes to the dogma that for a nation to achieve economic prosperity, it must prioritise and put in place a modern and efficient infrastructure (要想富、先修路). That is so very true! There is no doubt that infrastructure connectivity is the key to prosperity.

China has demonstrated, over the last 2 decades, that its spectacular economic transformation and modernisation could not have been possible had it not put in place inarguably the world most advanced infrastructure. In fact, the net benefits of connectivity and transport route improvement to a nation must be assessed on their economy-wide impacts, and not from the isolated project feasibility of cost versus revenue.

The so-called “debt-trap”, is nothing more than a bogey used by the West to demonise China and to frighten countries into believing that they are better off without modern infrastructures.

In truth without investing in modern infrastructures a develo country will remain in the “poverty-trap”.

Even for a developed economy like the United States, maintaining its public infrastructure assets in good condition is critical. But, alas, the US public infrastructure has been frozen in time capsule.

While the US own infrastructure assets are crumbling, it is telling the rest of the world “don’t build it”. But how could a country develop or sustain its development without being connected by an efficient road, sea, and telecommunication network to the rest of the world?

And that is precisely what the Belt and Road Initiative is all about.

You know there is a Chinese saying, to become self sufficient, you must first build roads. That was what happened inside China. The reason the West is jealous and difficult for the West to copy China is mainly because of dem cracy and where workers are told and taught to beware of own self interests and nothing on where the importance of loyalty to your country which is why Chinese workers are so powerful and selfless because they are taught to work as a team and loyal to their country. If China succeeds, you will succeed.
