As an Indian who has worked in Korea for 3 years. I can answer your question. The answer is *NOTHING*

Its the same as what Indians think of korea… Nothing… Korea is not culturally or politically very important for India and hence most Indians don't know anything about Korea, the same goes for Koreans living in korea. They know/think nothing in particular about India. Sure they know Gandhi ji, they know Netaji and how Indians fought the British and all and about Gautam Buddha, Hinduism, Tea and culture, yoga, Beautiful Indian traditional cloths, etc …Things that everyone knows about India.

印度人对韩国的看法也是一样，无足轻重。对印度人而言，韩国在文化和政治上并不重要，所以大多数印度人对韩国一无所知，生活在韩国的韩国人也是如此，对印度一无所知。当然，他们知道甘地，他们知道内塔吉，他们知道印度人是如何与英国人作战的，还有乔达摩佛，印度教，茶和文化，瑜伽，美丽的印度传统服装等等，都是印度普遍被世人所知的东西。

Indians are much more connected to the world and knows many things about the world because Indians are capable of understanding and communicating in English but Koreans are not. Hence they are really cut off from the rest of the world despite of being such a developed country, Korea is still very steeped in old beliefs and “word of mouth" is a huge thing there. This to a foreigner will look very stupid at first, then you understand that this was the system every where during the 1960s and before. Korea is kinda stuck there even today. Their mentalities are not progressive at all.

An Irish person was rejected from job because the koreans believe that Irish people have a drinking problem. Stupid right? well, thats just how it is… People say koreans are racist. They are not really racist. They are highly ignorant.

I personally haven't ever faced Racism in Korea. i have heard stories of it. But all those were minor incidents. We treat our own North East brothers and sisters worse than how Koreans treat Indians.

But however… Koreans mistreat Chinese people a lot. I have seen it myself. Most of them are rabid China haters. Even before this pandemic and all hit.

Let me answer this question from my several interaction with Koreans who visit India.

Firstly, they are intrigued by the Indian culture. Though Koreans follow some similar culture of respect to towards elders and follow old traditions which are similar to the Indian culture, they are intrigued by arranged marriages which happen in india. Also once Koreans marry, they live independently and are quite surprised when Indians continue to live in their parental home. They are surprised also by the expense that the bride's family makes for the wedding.

Another aspect which if I may say shocks them is dogs and stray cattle on the streets in India. They find it quite unbearable. They feel the streets should be only for pedestrians and vehicles.

Also they give and receive any object with both hands and some Koreans feel insulted when Indians give or take with the right hand only. Or even worse, when the shopkeepers for example keep the change on the counter.

另一个让他们震惊的事是印度街头随意走动的狗和牛。他们觉得难以忍受。他们认为街道应该是给行人和车辆专用的。

Koreans love Indian curries and tandoori food. Indian food is very pricey in Korea.

Yoga is very popular too.

Korean women like to live in India because in India they get house helps so unlike their country.

These are just a few and there are many more…but Koreans generally are respectful towards Indians and Korean businessmen consider India as a very promising market.

I recently spent a great amount if time with a group of 30 Koreans who were in India for some missionary work. They ages varied from 18–50 years. I formed a great bond with one of them and chatted a lot regarding India. He told me that while in Korea everything is fast paced and competitive, India is a place where you are pressurized with this much pressure. Another one told me that the kids in India are so much pure and easy going than the Korean kids because of the country's competitive nature.

I also shared with some of them the religious beliefs of the country to which they were shocked and amused at the same time. On the topic of beef in India things got a lot funnier (would like to avoid the conversation to not raise any backlash). They all loved Indians and the country for it's homeliness. And have heard nothing but good about it in their country also.

Well there are many assumptions about indians in Korea but as I have met many Koreans on internet and also have watched videos.

And from what I've seen many Koreans think of indians as nice people and unique. They don't know much about indians but when they meet an Indian their reaction are pretty much normal.

Before they used to make weird assumptions about indians but it seems to have changed over the time as many indians are visiting Korea.

One thing is true that koreans like fair people. If we are fair enough they are friendly and open,ofcourse some people dont care about complexon but most of them do. They usually know less about India and they think India is not so rich but they think that we are hard working and good with maths. Some people find our eyes and faces are attractive.

They are confined into thinkig that we ppl look like the characters of arabian nights wearing turbans. The only popular song they know is Tunuk tunuk by Dalher Mehandi. Heard in so many times in variety shows and saw a few kpop idols dancing to it. (Eric from Shinwa) Its embarrassing..!

6. Indians are not punctual. (Indians have a very bad reputation for this. But I always counter my Korean friends about this by saying that "we are from the land of Buddha and great yogis. We don't let our lives be dictated by time. We live in eternity."

7. All the Indians speak Hindi. (One of my Korean friends learned Hindi for 3 months because his company was going to send him to India for a year. One day I got a message from him that he was in a city named Chennai and nothing he learned seemed to be similar to what people were speaking there)

Here are the 3 opinions that most Koreans usually have about India.

India’s most famous traditional food is curry(yellow) and nan.

Indians are very smart, especially in mathematics.

Indians are generally nice and pleasant, and speak English fluently.

First of all, there are hundreds of famous food in India. In fact, curry itself has hundreds of its kind. Unfortunately, the only Indian food that Koreans actually have it on their mealtime is yellow paste curry.

Also, I found the direct reason why Indians can’t help being good at English; India’s different minorities, and each of them has their own language. In total, there are approxmately 180 languages. So a funny situation occurs; although there are both Indians, they is a high chance they do not understand a word of each other. Alas, English has to be used to communicate.

首先，印度有数百种食物。事实上，咖喱本身就有数百种。只是可惜啊，韩国人唯一吃到过的印度食物就是黄酱咖喱。

此外，我发现印度人擅长英语的直接原因。印度有很多少数族群，每个民族都有自己的语言，总共大约有180种语言。于是一个有趣的情况发生了：虽然大家都是印度人，但很有可能听不懂对方说的话。于是乎，大家就用英语来交流吧。

In conclusion, I believe Koreans should be introduced to Indian culture more often and change their old views about India. There is an India Culture Center at Hannamdong, Seoul. I recommend people to visit here and learn about India’s wonderful, diverse culture.

总之，我认为韩国人应该更多地了解印度文化，改变对印度的固有看法。首尔汉南洞有印度文化中心。我建议人们来这里参观，了解印度精彩多样的文化。
