More curiously, I wonder what the Type 056 Corvette and Type 022 will do in the future. It seems like their roles are less and less relevant in future for PLAN.

I think PLAN is going to transfer more 056 corvettes to the Coast Guard, so this new CORVETTES will replace them.

I would look at it as an attempt by the Chinese to do its business in a more subdued way. If you send a 13.000 ton destroyer to ward off some fishing boats, that is an international incident. If you instead send a large corvette that doesn't look scary on radar, that's less of a big event.

Saaar as an Indian, I congratulate China on its achievements. However, their navy is not yet a match for the Indian Navy in the Indian Ocean. We take pride in our nation, so China, be cautious, as we won't back down easily.
