China's trying to become the world's biggest producer of EVs. By the time human-caused global warming becomes so bad that cons are forced to acknowledge it, will China's economy catch our economy off-guard, and force our car industry out of business?

Do you have any idea how foolish you sound?
1 degree increase (if that) in 150 years will be imperceptible for 1,500 years. Global warming would take over 1,500 years to even be vaguely noticeable. And by that time everyone will be talking about the real science of astrophysics and not fake climate science.
You sound like an ignorant child, are you getting your information from Greta Thornberg?

I don’t think there will be a loser if China becomes the world’s largest produce of EV’s. Competition in the production of these vehicles is a great motivator for all economies. Local production reduces ship costs and therefore cost to the consumer, who ultimately will benefit. Moreover, the planet will benefit. Yet each country must increase production of electricity generated using sources other than oil.
This is a great challenge that must be met on a planetary scale. In addition to the standard sources like wind, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric, and pumped hydro, along with huge storage by batteries, the world must employ small modular fission reactors while we pursue Fusion generation. I remain optimistic that humans will meet all these challenges and provide our grandchildren with a planet where all species can thrive and survive in harmony.

There is no human caused global warming.
And the idiots trying to take the carbon out of the air seem to forget that plants turn carbon into oxygen .
No carbon, no plants, no oxygen, no people.

Since Japanese car makers have pretty much forfeited the electric car market to China and Korea, the Chinese are poised to take it.

China’s trying to become the world biggest producer of everything.
This is forcing all of our industries out of business.

They are trying. You are out of business due to you guys looking down and under estimating China. And all the shit about intellectual property theft and copying while in truth China overtook the U.S. and the world in EV technology. Global warming is caused by the U.S. and the west, China resolved it.
Yes you guys are caught off guard but it is your fault.

Is China's EV industry ahead of the US?
Depends on what you mean by ahead, I guess.
They’ve got more players and they sell more cars.
Chinese consumers are much more receptive to the idea of EVs.
They will probably have far less trouble getting infrastructure established than anybody in the US not named Tesla.
But —
Tesla is still the undisputed world leader when it comes to EVs, even if they sell more cars overseas than in the US.
It certainly bears watching. A general theme with China. While the US tries to dig itself into a backward hole, China moves forward.

Is China's EV industry ahead of the US?
In March 2022, China's National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration officially issued the "14th Five-Year Plan" for the development and implementation of new energy storage, bringing a new top-level design to the trillion-dollar market in energy storage.
The plan focuses on exploring and promoting the application of two-way interactive intelligent charging and discharging technology for electric vehicles and smart electricity facilities.
It means that when electric vehicles need electricity, the power supply system charges the vehicles, which is "buying electricity", and when the power supply system is at its peak, electric vehicles discharge the system, equivalent to "selling electricity".
This model can greatly improve the utilization rate of electric energy, reduce the cost of electricity, meet the peak demand of government power supply system, and achieve the organic synergy of electric vehicles, charging piles and power grid.
This is quite new and unique. Not every country need and be able to do this.

Is China's EV industry ahead of the US?
In terms of the numbers of decent EV manufacturers China is way ahead of America. The lone exception to that is the American company Tesla. Tesla towers above all EV car makers combined with a truly massive lead in technology. For all the flack people give Tesla Americans should support Tesla much better. That being said I would never buy any EV vehicle no matter who made it. They have zero range and zero ability to charge on the road compared to gas cars at least in a timely manner. If you knew how lithium was mined you would go hug a driver of a gas powered car and thank him for saving the environment. The production of EV batteries is some nasty stuff they don't want you to know about.

What role does China play in the global electric vehicle market, and how might their involvement affect US auto manufacturing?
Everyone is focusing on Tesla as the electric car maker but China will most likely dominate the lower priced electric car segment.
BYD, the largest electric car maker in China has a basic electric car that sells for just over $10,000 in China. They will fill the cheaper end of the electric car market and make electric cars a viable choice for the ordinary consumer.
If they arrive in the US in sufficient volume, they will wipe out legacy US car makers.

Will China beat the US in the electric car market?
It is not even a fair comparison. While USA has the third largest market, they are far behind China. The question should be whether USA will beat China in the electric vehicle market. The answer is unlikely.

Given that the public is aware that car exhaust fumes contribute to global warming and general pollution, why isn't there a greater demand for cheap and economical electric cars?
In the UK, the purchase of electric cars is subsidized by the government, and whether they are cheaper to run than combustion-engined cars depends on fuel tax. They take ages to charge up and so are only suitable for short journeys unless you have time on your hands.
