I see no advantages! All BRIC countries that want to join are develo countries, including China. If i were a develo country I’d like to be mentored by a Developed country so I can educate my citizens to learn how to get there. However, Argentina economy isn't flaring well and the newly elected president is more confident to lean toward the G7 group then BRICS thinking G7 may help her to ease her deteriorated economy.

If Argentina needs to have some kind of infrastructure development BRICS or Asia Development Bank could assist her but the newly elect promptly rejected BRICS. However, if Argentina wants China BR assistance I think China may oblige to her request. Argentina is a middling country, with population of over 45 million, the second largest in Latin America after Brazil. From the viewpoint of agricultural and mineral resources, it does not add any real weight to BRICS.

I would imagine that save for Brazil, the other BRICS countries, including the 5 new ones that will join come January 2024, will be somewhat indifferent.
