I cannot speak for the entire population of India, but I can only share my own personal experiences and those of my family members. We have all lived in various countries outside of India, such as the UK and US. However, the idea of who eats what has never crossed my mind in the way you seem to be thinking (By the way, people consume cow's meat, not the cow itself). Therefore, I do not feel offended by this matter. I understand that our dietary choices, clothing preferences, and language are influenced by the geographical location, climate, and economy of a specific place and culture that have evolved over centuries and millennia. Thus, I am not bothered if my neighbor consumes beef, pork, chicken, lamb, or crab. Hence, the question of being offended by people from other countries eating beef is completely irrelevant. However, I do find the smell of animal products, whether raw or cooked, unpleasant.

None of my children eat beef, including my wife. My son and son-in-law are both vegetarians. They are aware of the meat-eating habits in other countries. As far as I know, only Jains and Hindus practice vegetarianism while the rest of the world does not. Even Buddhists in Thailand, China, and Japan consume beef and various other foods that are not consumed by people of Semitic religions. In Hong Kong, there are more establishments serving snake dishes than anywhere else in the world. I would advise avoiding those places if you visit. I will share a relevant experience of mine. In 2006, during a private visit to London, my wife and I stayed near Oxford Street for a week. Every evening, we would have dinner at a nearby restaurant, located just a five-minute walk from our hotel. Before taking our order, the waiter would inform us that they were aware Hindus do not consume beef, so they would not mention any beef dishes. We did not have any negative feelings towards other patrons who were enjoying various non-vegetarian dishes, including dishes with raw meat or beef.

Note: In India, many practicing vegetarians do not consider eggs as non-vegetarian food.

Indian have thier own belief and we know our boundaries. Most of Indians doesn't even bother about Beef is being eaten in few states and lot of non- Hindu eat it in India too.

I had lot of such instances where I am having lunch with clients and they are enjoying thier Stake and I am happy with my chicken or Veggie.

May be Offence is a harsher term here but I think it is more from our love for animals that we prefer you do not eat. Prefer is the term.. But it would eventually turn in to demand in a while.

When you eat Beef specifically, in my opinion, it is same as smoking and blowing the smoke on my face. How you may ask. let me refer you to this place: COWSPIRACY: The Sustainability Secret. The idea of industrializing the meat was a disaster. And just because the taste bud of some cant resist you have wreck this havoc.

SO I do not think we get offended, but personally I will not share the table with a beef eater. It is a personal choice. I suppose it depends on the person. I'm sure the millions of Muslims , Christians, and Jews that live in India are not religiously opposed to it. Cows are actually eaten in India as well, not only by adherents of these religions, but by non-practicing Hindus.

I am American and haven't ever lived in India, but as a Hindu, it doesn't bother me what other people do. I do feel terrible about what any animal sufferers at the hands of a cruel meat packing industry, but I personally think humanely raised meat is a possibly ethical alternative.

I don't want to start a debate on the ethics of eating meat, but I did want to answer your question. Unfortunately, I can not answer as I do not know the opinion of many Indians that reside in India.

Cow worship is definitely a part of Hinduism. India is a hot climate prevalent country, particularly the Indo Gangetic plain, where eating pork or beef, can lead to physical ailments.

Hinduism comes with a remarkable bit of tolerance. This can be seen from the American incidence of using Hindu God's depiction on underpants, and foot mats, as well as bed sheets. It led to only token peaceful protests. Had a similar episode occurred using Islamic or Christian symbols, the repurcussion would definitely not have been similar.

Considering the above facts, Hindus in particular, and Indians in general, don’t take offence at beef eating nations.

Does it really matter, what people of India think that’s cows are being eaten in other countries.

In India women treated badly(other 3rd world countries also do) but do Indians care about what other countries think about it.

So, I think even if Indians feel bad it does not really matter to the world.

For me cow is animal just like any other. It’s wrong to pick n choose an animal above other animals. Coz killing a cow is bloody affair just like killing a goat or lamb or chicken for food.

Cows are eaten within India as well. Why would folks then be offended about cows being eaten in other places?

Ban on bovine meat is present in only some of the states. And the idea of cow meat being a taboo is primarily a North Indian thing.

In Southern India, at least in my Uni hostel where folks came from TN, Kerala, Andhra, people either didn’t eat any meat or ate all kinds of meat. Beef curry/salna, Parota is common in many roadside stalls.
