Chinese scientific and technological development is very rapid, however are focused on apply science and engineering. Nobel Prize categories are :

Nobel Prize in Physics – Awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences

Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine – Awarded by the Karolinska Institute

For science, the focus Nobel Prize award is on pure science rather than apply science.

The Nobel categories are not related to apply science and engineering. Never the less, as years roll by, Chinese scientists are starting to engage more in pure science research and will be awarded in those areas in due course.

The report also shows that the proportion of China's hot papers in the world continues to grow, and the number of hot papers ranks first globally. The number of highly cited papers continues to rank second in the world, with a 3.5% increase in the global share.

This is a good indication that China's influence in science and technology is increasing. As to whether China will emerge a large number of Nobel Prize-wng talents in the future, let's wait and see.

China is not a scientific / technological power.

Look at the Myanmar leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, when US was using her to stimulate China on Democratic subject, then she was awarded with Nobel Prize. When the purpose had achieved and she’s of no more use, then US just ripped off her Nobel Prize award.

It’s just a political tool and nothing more. Chinese do not care of such tool.
