A terrestrial cable dived deep into the seabed between two islands of the Zhoushan Islands, east China's Zhejiang Province, on January 4.

The 10-kilovolt cable, which spans 1 kilometer, will serve as a substitute for submarine cables and help solve the problem of the submarine cables' frequent damage in the area after completion.

这条跨度1公里的10千伏电缆将替代海底电缆，有助于解决海底电缆完工后在该地区频繁损坏的问题。

1月4日，一条10千伏陆上电缆从浙江舟山北部海域海床以下7米深的预置通道穿出，标志着中国首个陆缆穿海工程在浙江舟山成功敷设。

据了解，目前国内岛际间的能源供应主要依靠海底电缆进行输送，然而沿海海域航道密集，来往船只繁忙，船只抛锚时容易损伤海缆。相较于海底电缆，陆上电缆管道埋深远大于抛锚深度，无锚损等外力破坏风险，且成本更低、对施工环境要求更低，施工难度更小，前期审批更快，更适用于短距离海岛间的能源输送。

@TacticalMayo - Give credit where credit is due. Many locals helped out in ww2. Without their help who knows what'd happen in history. We were in to defeat Japan, not there to save China or any countries. Russians were told to advance only to the line where we all agreed on.
