Singapore is located on key choke point on a busy trade route- the Malacca Strait. It has been a key center of trade since the last century.

Why are Andaman and Nicobar Islands not fully utilised by India?

The same question has been haunting me also since I visited Port Blair and two other nearby islands about three years back. There are said to be over 300 small islands in Andaman and Nicobar UT. Some of these are said to be uninhabited, a few inhabited by aboriginal Jarawa and other tribes which avoid contact with outsiders strictly and some may be under occupation of ministry of defence for safeguarding our national territories.
