banning tiktok means nothing to China. bytedance is not public listed. Employment is mainly outside China, they probaly don’t break revenue back yo China and no tax to China either. Through all these years, it’s hard to find anything Chinese not sanctioned by the US nowadays. To China this is pretty much just another day.

Huawei’s mobile phone business took a dip and had now been rebadged under Honor (still accessing Google). Huawei phones now on their own OS which I hope will be increasingly adopted by global apps. Tiktok has been trying in vain for years to ward off American political attack. In fact, the divestment of Tiktok from Bytedance has been publicly pushed since Donald’s first re-election campaign. For Joe to repeat Donald’s hustling means there is plenty of votes to be bought.

Tiktok is Chinese-owned, so it won’t step on any American tail—the ones that matter anyway. It’s the perfect sacrificial lamb to deliver another 4 years of Democrats holding sway.

At least Tiktok can tell the world with no pretense that it has made every effort to comply with exacting Federal demands, from corporate structure to data handling and countless audits and investigations.

The same legal and economic arguments made against Donald’s original attempt at forcing a Tiktok sale hasn’t changed—it will do more harm than good, to America. If the legislation comes to pass, Tiktok will leave the US, just like it has left India, because the Chinese government will block any sale reached by Bytedance.

What the US government really want, is to control the source of media and information. It will be so much easier to brainwash the American people without free flow of information.
