China has already reached its peak... 1. China's population is sinking faster than any country in recorded history and its not slowing down anytime soon.  In 10yrs China will have less than 1 Billion people.

 2.difference in culture, those who live under like the brand we see in China fail to live up to their human potential capacity (read a bit of Nietzsche.. ubermench etc.).  Sure they have a bunch of stem graduates  where they have no motivation except to do just enough to survive the evil party, there is no sense of community, no common good in China. Nobody wants to immigrate to China because of this.

China getting into a kinetic war with the US in the near term would be the single most stupid move they could make, win or lose (and they would lose). They're GOING to dethrone us as the economic hegemony, within a few decades at the latest, and they're wrecking our culture on a daily basis. Their whole strategy has been the long game, and even waiting for another 30-50 years on current trajectories would virtually guarantee their supremacy.
