NEW DELHI: In kee with PM Narendra Modi's repeated declarations that he was sure to get a third term and intends to hit the ground running, top govt officials have been preparing the action plan for the new regime, focusing, among other things, on “optimisation of ministries” from the current 54, increasing the number of Indian missions overseas by 20% to 150 in the next six years, greater private investment in infrastructure and a mechanism for smoother land acquisition for priority projects.

In the case of higher courts, the target is to reduce the turnaround time from the current 1,128 days to less than 500 days by 2030, which will require more judges in courts. The plan is to reduce vacancies in the judiciary from 22% to 10% over the next six years.
