China is not at all what we imagined! Today marks our first day in Shanghai, kicking off our month-long journey across the country. Our plan is to not only visit the vibrant and modern cities but also uncover the serene countryside and wander through ancient towns. It’s our first time really exploring China and we're excited to immerse ourselves in its people, cuisine, and culture. Our Shanghai adventure begins with a stroll along the chic Yuyuan Road, a pitstop at an underground food haven suggested by a friendly local, and a visit to the renowned Bund for that classic Shanghai skyline view.

中国根本不是我们想象的那样！今天是我们在上海的第一天，开启了我们为期一个月的全国之旅。我们计划不仅要参观充满活力和现代化的城市，还有宁静的乡村，漫步古老的城镇。这是我们第一次真正探索中国，我们很高兴能沉浸在其中，人民、美食和文化。在一个友好的当地人建议下，我们的上海之旅从沿着别致的豫园路漫步开，这是一个美食天堂，然后参观著名的外滩，欣赏经典的上海天际线景观。

I literally just left Shanghai after a 12 days China tour. China is so clean, so big! And the people are so polite and friendly. The Bund, you see it on Youtube, on pictures, but nothing like seeing with your own eyes. It is like....staring into the future.

I am so glad you are traveling China! My family and I were there in 2019. There are over 2800 pairs of bullet trains to get you all over the country quickly (217 mph). Very clean. In the 4-hour ride from Being (Great Wall and Forbidden city) to X ian (Terra cotta soldiers) attendants swept 5 times and mopped 4 in our section alone. The nature, culture, temples and carved statues are going to blow your socks off!

I was there in 2008 after the earthquake in Chengdu (?).  Due to a period of mourning all the lights were out at night and entertainment venues closed. We were so saddened but understood. Really hope I can visit again and see this incredible city.
