No, China doesn't do everything right. It's not some flawless paradise on earth. China has their own issues like any other country in this world.

However, China is also nowhere near the hellhole it's been made out to be by Western mainstream media.

Here is how the chinese does things: Whenever the Chinese government wants to do something on a national scale, they first hold a test pilot program in some small locality for a number of years. Then they examine the result of the experiment, make adjustments until they are satisfied with the result. Only after that they start implementing the program on a wider scale.

They don’t do everything right, nor does any other country. Quora is very liberal and wants to assume China does it with liberal policies. In fact it’s the opposite…they don’t pay people to sit at home and not work, they are much tougher on drug use etc. In some ways it’s like the USA used to be, there’s a sense of shame if you don’t work. If you don’t work, you better start stealing because nobody is going to care and give you money to sit on the sofa and complain. Also, in general they want their country to be strong, they don’t celebrate weakness like we do here these days.

The focus of all government works are on the wellbeing of the country and people as a collective, along with a long forward vision. That is a foundation for getting things right, more often then not. When self interests come in, things start to tilt over.

China of course does not do everything right. But in its culture three things stand out. One is reflect and correct your mistakes. Two is humility and prepare to learn. Three is harmonize your relationships with nature, with people, and with yourself. The latter means consistency and summarized in the term 知行合一. That literally means do what you know to be true. All this helps a great deal.
