Kicking foreign companies and products out could benefit local companies in the short term. However, having a more competitive market is more beneficial in the long term. The most competitive market creates the most competitive products for the international market.

Any government can kick foreign companies out, but they are going to lose big on the international market. Anything survives the Chinese market will dominate the international market.

China do not follow the U.S. delinquent behavior engaging in knee-jerk reactions to any issue that is disagreeable however big or small.

Only after careful consideration will China react. China has so much credit in US$, use it or dump it. Throwing tantrums will get no one anywhere.

In 2022, china's export to USA was US$582.76 Billions, china's import from USA was US$178.96 Billions. At the same time china's export to EU was €626 Billions, and china's import from EU was €230 Billions. Confucius says “己所不欲勿施于人“ which could be translated “do not unto others what you do not want others do unto you”. If the West wants to punish China, it would be good to reflect on the “accusations” that led to the punishment and make amend.

Reasons for making those “punishment” could be varied including “reasons” that are non exstence which obviously you could not make amend to. Some “punishment” are for being an outstanding achiever to which one could not understand why an achievement is punished which I believe even the US could not explain.
