India has posted enormous growth in the past decades and is projected to expand solidly in the years to come. But the economic prosperity hasn’t trickled down to everyone. Inequality remains high and young people in particular are struggling to find work. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi looks set to secure another term, many are wondering for how long the country’s growth story can continue.

Indias biggest long term problem is brain drain.  Modi really needs to do more to improve the lives of upper middle class people there.  The visa wait list to come to the USA is now 3 years.  Tens of thousands of doctors go to the USA as soon as they finished school in India, same with computer programmers.   You can't constantly have your highest educated people just leaving the country fight after college.

Indian labour laws are a joke and are not enforced,whatever laws are there. Private jobs are straightaway  labour exploitation with people working 12 hours for minimum wages.

Nothing to get overhyped about India's growth. India will still have high brain drain, low per capita income,  increasing income inequality,  negative effects of climate change, corruption, issues related to cesspit de ocracy etc.

China is still the new China and not India. All news outlets tell you how great India is doing growing 5 to 7% whereas China was growing 10-15%. Simply put India has no chance of replicating Chinese success story on the same level. There are too many things holding it down.
