(Bloomberg) -- Cheap electric vehicles from China are already pushing into Europe, undercutting one of the region’s biggest industries. BYD Co., which overtook Tesla Inc. late last year as the biggest global EV maker, is about to raise the stakes.

The scary part is not Chinese EVs prices. The scary part is how they can build exceptionally high quality EVs, which western car reviewers (including Elon Musk) generously praise, at such low prices!!

Government support. Extremely low labor costs.  Control of materials and few middlemen in the chain.  BYD doesn't necessarily need to make profit on their cars while they are getting established in a new market.  That's a combination that western makers can't compete with.

If the goal really is to "save the planet" this should be a welcome outcome and a none issue to be exposing more people to the electric car market, but this just proves that none of that is true and it's all one big money making scam for the rich..
