Despite of the USA’s trade war against China LADOT ordered 130 electrical buses from BYD. However, these buses will be manufactured in the USA in the cooperation between LADOT and BYD. The electrical vehicles will be cheaper in the near future as the battery technology is improving while fossil fuel based vehicles will become more expensive due to the climate change policy and higher prices. Great cooperation between LADOT and BYD.

These are 30' transit busses, not passenger cars. BYD started building electric busses in California 15 years ago, but it's very unlikely they'll sell BYD passenger cars in the near future.
