Why does India like to compare with China, but China doesn't care about India? China doesn't see India as a threat or something to aspire for, then the reason is simple. Talk to any one. For a vast majority of them, India is a low income country, with poverty and misery everywhere. Watching india's street children is heart breaking. That's literally how the ordinary people views India. Business people that travel to India but never eat outside the hotel or only do selectively because they feel it is too ‘unclean’. Just take an aerial view of Shanghai and compare it to Bombay and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why that is. Remember, China is a middle income country (think Turkey or Mexco), while India is a low income country (think Pakistan or Bangladesh).
