I think Sri Lanka should seek help from India instead from China since it is geographically close to India and will not antagonise India. Secondly China should not take up uncompleted projects discarded by others since Sri Lanka initially given the project to Japan and India without considering whether those two countries can successfully complete it. My view is Sri Lanka is not that sincere in the friendly relation with China. It is more on taking advantage with China policy of hel others to build up their infrastrutures

The Japanese stopped the loan due to the fact that the Minster in charge of the project wanted a big bribe asking for a commission up front, rightly, which was refused. The Minister terminated the contract. Then, Sri Lanka declared bankruptcy due to corruption.

If Sri Lanka truly wish to recover from it's present dilemma it should co-operate with China 100% and stop it's dependence on India. India work only for India and will never throw a penny to Sri Lanka. Whatever money India invest in Sri Lanka is only for it's own benefit and not those of Sri Lanka, meaning India cannot be trusted (especially with Modi as PM). China have a excellent track record in the whole of Africa whom China helped tremendously to develop and have raised their well-being. China have also taken over from the USA as the world No1 economy and have the means to help Sri Lanka. But Sri Lanka's PM and politicians have been playing games with China by being dishonest and as such China do not trust them anymore.
