HCLTech's CEO C Vijayakumar earned Rs 84.16 crore in FY24, a 190.75% increase, making him the highest-paid Indian CEO. His remuneration was 707.46 times the median employee salary. He reported a 13.7% YoY revenue growth and stressed the importance of a virtual-first, hybrid work model with flexbility and active employee-client dialogues.

HCLTech CEO C Vijayakumar has become the highest paid Indian CEO. According to the company’s annual report released on July 22, Vijayakumar’s remuneration for the fiscal year 2024 jumped to around Rs 84.16 crore, a 190.75 per cent year-on-year increase.

As stated in the annual report, Vijayakumar earned a base salary of around $1.96 million (Rs 16.39 crore), a performance-lined bonus of $1.14 million (Rs 9.53 crore), around $2.36 million (Rs 19.74 crore) was paid in long-term incentive (LTI) cash component.

According to the report, Vijayakumar’s remuneration was 707.46 times the median salary of employees at HCLTech.

In a letter to the shareholders, C Vijayakumar disclosed that the company’s overall revenues grew 13.7% YoY in constant currency, with the services business registering a growth of 15.8% YoY.

All the money saved from employee's pocket goes in lavishly spent expenses of these Top brokers who make money by selling IT Servies in international markets and making good commissions and paying peanuts to workforce. I have seen an employee who lost his child because he was not able to afford medical facilities for rare dieses and left helpless by his so-called corporate family.

Seriously shocked to read this over 190% hike. Whereas resources on ground level gets only 4-5% hike every year, which is not even sufficient for the inflation rate of 7%.

This is a classic example of how corporate india is run by few high salary guzzlers ceo whose only job is to ensure people are laid off every quarter, emplyees bonus are not disbursed due to unrealistic targets and appraisels are not more than 4-6% yearly, infact these ceo are pretty similiar to our bollywood stars who took away major junk of movies budget with no responsibility of movie doing good.
