India China Border Talks: Jaishankar Meets Wang Yi Again

中印边界会谈：苏杰生再次会见王毅

India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Chinese counterpart Wang Yi today. The meeting happened on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Affairs Meeting in Laos. This is the second meeting between the two foreign ministers this month.

Both leaders discussed the ongoing border standoff between India and China.

Jaishankar reiterated India's demands to fast-track the negotiations and resolve the border standoff.

He said "(We) agreed on the need to give strong guidance to complete the disengagement process. Must ensure full respect for the LAC and past agreements. It is in our mutual interest to stabilise our ties. We should approach the immediate issues with a sense of purpose and urgency."

In response, the Chinese Foreign Minister called on India to "meet each other half way".

印度外交部长苏杰生今天会见了中国外交部长王毅。这次会晤是在老挝举行的东盟外交会议期间举行的。这是本月两国外长的第二次会晤。

两位领导人讨论了印度和中国之间正在进行的边界对峙。

苏杰生重申印度要求的快速谈判和解决边境对峙。

他说：“(我们)一致认为，有必要为完成撤离进程提供强有力的指导。必须确保充分尊重实际控制线和过去的协定。稳定两国关系符合我们的共同利益。我们应该以使命感和紧迫感来处理眼前的问题。”

作为回应，中国外交部长呼吁印度“相向而行”。

It is good that India is at least trying to form some kind of peace. It is expensive to maintain such a vigilant defense on the border from co unist Chinese military aggression. Unfortunately as shown in the Galwan Valley crisis and even as far back as the 1962 invasion of India by the co unist Chinese, the co unist party of China cannot be trusted.
