I left my investment banking job in Canada and moved back to India in 2014 (the same year Modi came to power). The kind of transformation I have seen in the past 9.5 years is mind boggling. Things I thought were impossible in India (e.g. rural electrification, sanitation coverage, multi lane expressways etc.) have become commonplace. I don't want to speculate where our economy will be in 30 or 50 years as I just want to soak in and appreciate all the transformative work that is happening around me.

India will never grow double digit like China. It will grow anywhere between 6-8 percent depending on global factors, but it will grow for MUCH longer than China. That may not be a great thing for the current generation trying to get rich faster, but I think India will have a much more sustainable growth with de ocratic buy in from the people. LOWER FOR LONGER, that the India story in my opinion.
