Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has warned the Philippines against deploying a US intermediate missile system on its soil, according to the inhua News Agency. Elsewhere at the ASEAN meeting in Laos, Wang and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized the need for stable ties, even as tensions continue to rise in the South China Sea.

Most of us filipinos dont want US bases here much more their missiles. if only china respected our sovreign right and did not bully their way into our EEZ this basses would not be here today. The Philippines has every right just like any independent state to build up their military to protect their territory. Getting US made missile system that has been tried and tested is an effective deterrent to would-be invaders.

 they continue militarizing the South China Sea, harrassing Philippine fihermen and Philipine coast guard using grey zone tactics like using water cannons, blocking coast guards ships and  lately attacking a resupply mission. If only China abides with internstional law and respect the sovereign rights of its neighbors, stop bullyung, there will be peace in the region. Ironically some people are ignorant of these facts.
