I still remembered that The Economist magazine talking sarcastically about the Nest after the Beiing Olympics, saying that it was an extravagant and costly showpiece for the chinese and that it would be completely useless after the Game. I worried after reading it - little did I know back then that The Economist is simply an attack dog for the Western imperialism. Its lies about China only intensified in recent years and I am in complete disbelief and disgust at its journalistic dishonesty.

I have visited these places a couple of years after the Games and must admit China do look after them and let the public enjoy the venues. Some of the infrastructure were modified/re-purposed for the recent winter Olympic.

China always thinks ahead 20 years into the future. A beautiful building like that is precious and it is not a surprise that China has planned ahead what to do with the building. India on the other hand has proven that they don’t think ahead just like the usa never has a long term plan. Building a massive over budget building and leaving it to rot is a shame to nature and human intelligence itself.

I just have an idea for the Bird's Nest. The management office of the venue should show the 2008 Olympics Opening documentary at the Bird's Nest, with a scaled down live performance of the drums and other dance pieces. I bet that would be a show with high ticket demands, especially for out of town visitors.
