RANCHI: Following the death of 12 candidates during excise constable recruitment drive, Jharkhand govt is all set to relax the parameters for the physical ability test, reports Sanjay Sahay. As against the current qualifying benchmark of 10km run in 60 minutes, the police department is going to introduce a system of completing 1.6km run in 5-6 minutes, or reducing the distance to 5km, to be covered in 25 minutes.

Indian Army mandates 1.6km run in 5.45 minutes for men, while the same distance has to be completed in 7.30 minutes by women. Central paramilitary forces have a benchmark of completing a 5km run in 24 minutes for men, while women candidates have to cover 1.6km in 8.30 minutes.

@Odd342 But coal and other minerals come from these states like jharkhand, bihar , mp, up. If these state stop sending metals, all indestries will shut down in South India + plus dirt cheap labour.

China is doing steel dum inorder to damange our industries. First they will provide raw materials at very less price and after that they will increase the price suddenly. You know about "API" that is main ingredient in making medicine is provided china. Many countries in past were making their own "API" but due to cheap supplies of these ingredients from China, all industries related to production of these "API" are closed. And now china is increasing price of raw materials. Plus importing coal from other countries will increase price of electricity. South India is fully depandant on north India.

These training centre are generally 10 and 12 km from main city , they invite candidates before 6AM , and then they will keep you seated in crowd for almost half day without any food or liquid then they will say you to run 10 km . Man this is totally a systemless behaviour by gov

This is a part of selection process dude. Police and military do this as they want high endurance people (forget police, they get fat later on)

Rule is to run 10km in 1 hour
Reason for the death is,
- Jharkhand isn't a plane area, hence causing problems to run in valleys
- Almost 30-35 degree of temperature outside
- Physical examination held just 3 days after notice by state govt. causing lack of practice.

FYI,my known friend completed race in 40 min. .
Bro these type of race requires months/yrs of practice.
