China has a significant aircraft construction capability, and it would be reasonable to expect a significant number of airframes constructed annually. On question of comparison with LIGHTNING II. The mere fact alone that J-35 is twin engined aircraft with lesser combined thrust than Lightning make things interesting. (I had an impression that it’s other way around.)

Any examples? China hasn't been at war in ages. If you're judging based on how export equipment has performed, the same could be said about US equipment in Ukraine. I dont think weapons shipped abroad are a good measure of the overall quality of a country's military equipment
