I am a Chinese viewer, and your videos are great. The Chinese MRE waterless heater has had a small upgrade. Previously, the heating pack was sealed inside the heater bag along with the food. However, it was found in practice that the heater bag wasn't sturdy enough, and even small damages would cause the heating pack to fail. So now, the heating pack is separately sealed in soft can packaging.

Chinese military used to have the kind of soldiers need to be toughened up mentality. They are definitely pivoting towards giving creature comforts for the soldiers within reason. Having the soldiers being miserable all the time doesn't do them any favours.

I imagine the top brass in the PLA all sitting around a single laptop, eyes glued to the screen, biting their fingernails and fidgeting with anxety, waiting for Steve to complete his review. 169 grams of carbs.  As a diabetic, that's more than I can have in an entire day, let alone one meal.  Whew, is one of the reasons diabetics can't be in the military.  The US MRE's also have some serious carb load.
