China’s National Bureau of Statistics on Friday reported third-quarter GDP growth of 4.6% year on year, slightly exceeding the 4.5% expected by economists polled by Reuters.

That’s less than the second-quarter growth of 4.7% year on year.

Not really, coz chinese consumption is low by global standards. Besides, there are more manufacturing centers in many other countries beside china now. Most of the companies who left china have moved to vietnam, india, mexco, thailand, indonesia, cambodia etc. So meaning the world consumption remains the same, world growth is not tied to china's growth

Its because the growth is occuring on an already large no. So ofc the precent of growth maybe low but why not talk about development in absolute numbers

There is also a need to address that chinese gov is probably cutting down on infra spending so that they can allocate money to other sectors. I am not sure how this has been carried out this year, but i heard about it in a chinese professor's interview
