比亚迪“鲨鱼”皮卡在澳大利亚的售价远低于预期,遭到澳洲用户疯抢

据报道,澳大利亚当地时间周二晚上,比亚迪澳洲经销商于布罗肯希尔发布了Shark 6(鲨鱼)插混皮卡,新车价格只有57,900澳元(约合人民币27.1万元),远低于此前人们预期。

由于价格太过劲爆,鲨鱼皮卡发布后受到澳洲用户疯抢,当地经销商官网一度被挤爆,宕机将近2个小时,在当晚10点前才重新上线。

在新车发布后3小时内,比亚迪澳大利亚就收到了1000台订单,更有甚者,有用户因为网站崩溃,直接驱车前往当地比亚迪销售店去现场下订。

BYD is very likely making a profit on the shark. Its latest gross margin on cars is 25%, but they spend like crazy on r&d and expansion. I wish this were available for 40k in the states. I will grab one right away, even though i am never fond of pickups.

"... way below cost..." How the hell do you know that? Just because they sell them cheaper than the competition doesn't mean they sell them at a loss. Here's an example: in 2023, DongFeng sold its EX1 EV for 8-9,000 euro; Renault rebranded it and sold it as Dacia Spring for 20-21,000 euro. Does that mean DongFeng sold those cars at a loss? No, it means Renault sold them at a huge markup price.

The BYD shark drives purely on the electric motors. The gasoline motor is purely used as a generator. That also means it does not add horsepower to the driveline. No worries though, the electric motors deliver more than sufficient power

I think the all in cost for this vehicle could not be more than $AU65k.  There is a possibility it is being sold at cost.  That is not predatory pricing or dum.
