Developed countries are asking develo countries to contribute to climate funds, but develo countries want developed countries to contribute more instead - given that the developed world have cumulatively polluted far more and reaped the economic benefits. China is part of this large develo country group. Passing the buck all around, business as usual.

China is responsible for a lot of stuff when it comes to geopolitics.

But the primary burden of climate change is not China's. Not even today. It is absurd to look at emissions at the country levels. China and India are Billion+ countries. There is only one correct way to look at this and that is in terms of per capita.

Go after Canada, UAE, Germany, Netherlands and the like. Get them to lower the per capita emissions and then transfer the lessons learned and the technologies developed to the global south free of IP conditions.

Maybe we should re-evaluate our approach to China. We ask China to be more green, but we complain about over-capacity of green products from China. We ask China to support and finance develo countries to adopt green tech, then we turnaround telling everyone China is setting debt traps. We literally contradicting ourselves in all matters regarding China these days. Maybe we need to make up our minds first about China before openning our mouth.
