India is building a new base for nuclear-armed submarines in the Bay of Bengal called INS Varsha in a bid to curb China’s naval footprint growing in India’s backyard. The Bay of Bengal is a critical ship lane and some China experts believe the waterway could play a key role in any conflict over Taiwan or the South China Sea.

The US is exacerbating this issue by trying to create a conflict between China and India. The US wants China and India to be at odds with each other. If they work together, that's a loss for the US. Take not that the US tried to establish a military base in Bangladesh months before Sheikh Hasina was thrown out of office. Hasina declined the request for the leasing of land to the Americans, months later she was thrown out of office. In 2019, the US tried to establish a military base in Sri Lanka which generated widespread concern among civilians in the nation. You know what other country was worried about these possible bases in South Asia? India. India knows very well that the US isn't a friend. Considering the fact that the US is now going after Adani for something he apparently did in India is clearly indicative of the fact that the US will NEVER see India as an equal. They are trying to keep the Indians down now. Asia for Asians. This is what we need.

India’s submarine base is not challenging China but rather the United States. This is why the U.S. once pressured Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to transfer St. Martin’s Island, which is near the new Indian submarine base.

Indians are very angry about this matter.

Indians believe that the Indian Ocean belongs to them. Interestingly, Americans think the same way.

Finally, I don’t think this naval base poses any challenge to China. It should be noted that India’s capital is just over 300 kilometers from the China-India border. If the capital is gone, what would be the point of a naval base?

From the description that China is worried about its trade through Malacca strait being choked off by adversaries, it looks like China's expanding influence in the Indian ocean is more defensive than aggressive. If China's increasing presence in the Indian ocean is a threat to India, then US's military presence all around China poses a threat 10 times greater to China. One cannot deem one as a threat and the other as benign. Once one filters out the media bias, then one sees that the fundamental problem is the security competition between great powers that traps them in the security dilemma, not because one country is bad and the other is good. The question is how to manage such security competitions to prevent it from spiraling out of control like the war in Ukraine. Actions that seek to intensify the security competition so that one side wins over another is extremely dangerous and need to be called out.

As a Chinese, I can say no one care about that or think India will use this to counter other countries.

Why are Americans so keen to describe China and other countries as a "confrontational relationship"

and describe some of China's normal development behaviors as ambition or monopoly, even though China has never shown this tendency.

Your inertia of thinking exposes a reality: US is the one who like "confrontational relations" the most and the ones who like to challenge other countries the most.
