Even Delhi is a city of mix ethnic groups. There is no particular breakfast for delhites, i eat bread with peanut butter and my father eats paranthas, india can never be particular, its diverse.

I think he’s saying that’s what it tastes like to him. Not implying that it’s expired or bad. Just not a usual taste for him. Buttermilk is fermented milk . So it’s reasonable that it has a similar sourness to milk that has started to go bad. But he definitely didn’t say it was expired milk. He’s just describing the taste for him .

@ankiyaanimations7196 mate, nothing like buttermilk in hot summer. In Chennai and other places in TN, a lot of free diluted buttermilk gets distributed. Absolutely marvellous stuff. Check it out when you go to Chennai.

The most common breakfast in North India is Roti/parata with veg/non veg. Down south its dosa, Idli, puri.

India is a very diverse country my friend, different people eat different kind of breakfast, but if you want to generalise then I will say in North India most of the people eat Parantha's in the morning with tea. Also some eat eggs, fruits, dosas, etc. I mean to be true if you are in India you have 100s of choices to have a breakfast.

There is no hard coded breakfast rule in India. We stay at one place and hardly go out to eat and every morning we have a different dish in breakfast. Sometimes it is north indian paratha, sometimes south indian upma or idli-sambhar, sometimes just plain roti-sabzi or sandwiches. Every region and city has some famous local breakfast. I hear people in UP love kachori and jalebi in breakfast. In bangalore you will have traditional south indian stuff or egg pakoda (literally every shop was selling egg pakora when I lived in bangalore). In pune there is inescapable vada-pav and misal-pav (I ate vada-pav every single day when I lived there, sometimes all my three meals of day consisted of vada-pav. I love it sooooo much)
