China built all types of crazy roads and bridges on impossible mountains and cliffs before the modern technology and engineering even exsted. That's just one example of the Chinese. You can slow them down by few years, but that's it, you cant stop them. That country is used to overcoming hard obstacles and making impossible things possible. Not able to produced 3mn chip currently is just a piece of cake for them. Just give them 5 more years with all the restrictions you want in the world, those guys will beat you in the chip game too.

That is not true, China is not behind in commercial aircraft. China has produced the home grown C919 commercial aircraft and the usa and the EU are not cooperating in testing the aircraft for airworthiness certificate to be allowed to fly in North America and Europe. It is a politically based rather than technologically that the C919 does not have the Airworthiness certificate from the American and European aviation agencies.
