Normally it would be OK but he has to understand Indian sensitivity about China encircling India. Nepal has always been a close ally but for past few years they have started moving away towards China. What they seem to forget is if they want continued open Indian market, free movement of goods and people with lakhs of Nepalis working in India without any restrictions plus the fact that both are Hindu dominated countries. What similarity it has with China?

China cannot be a substitute to India and Nepal must have realized the facts by now. India can bring Nepal to a halt without a sweat by stop port access.

China wants to circle India, not in love with Nepal. Over 4 million Nepalese work in India and send money back to Nepal, India never closed their borders to Nepal nor to protect the 4 million local jobs, enforced any govt policy while China protects it's local jobs. India has blood relations with Nepal & Bhutan and proved it's respect and loyalty to Bhutan at Dokhlam standoff. Sudden interest by China is to break the centuries old Unity of both the countries and to some extent is successful too recently, typical examples are all the comments on this subject. Act wise, reap benefits without losing your country or putting at risk, the borders of your time tested friendly neighbour India. Just the way, India never ditches it's friend Russia inspite of all the pressure from western countries.

中国想包围印度，而不是真心喜欢尼泊尔。超过400万尼泊尔人在印度工作，把钱寄回尼泊尔，印度从未关闭与尼泊尔的边界，也没有保护400万个本国工作岗位，执行任何政府政策，而中国则保护本土工作岗位。印度与尼泊尔和不丹有血缘关系，在洞朗对峙中证明了印度对不丹的尊重和忠诚。中国的兴趣在于打破两国几百年来的团结，而且在某种程度上最近也取得了成功。要明智地行动，在不失去你的国家或冒着风险的情况下获取利益，你的边界考验着你的友好邻国印度。顺便说一句，尽管受到西方国家的压力，印度从未抛弃它的朋友俄罗斯。

Finally, emphasisng on SAARC and friendly terms with China he cleared his intention to play an important role in future. India needs to watch.

Although Nepal doesn''t appear to be friendly with India but It plays India and China card to demean India''s influence on Nepal, It is highly diplomatic in nature.
