Nepal's cable TV operators switch signals of Indian news channels except Doordarshan

KATHMANDU: Nepal's Cable television providers have said that signals for Indian news channels, except Doordarshan, have been switched off in the country. There is, however, no official order issued in this regard.

加德满都：尼泊尔有线电视运营商表示，除全印电视台之外，所有印度新闻频道的信号已经被切断。不过，没有发布相关的正式通知。

"We have turned off the signals of the Indian Channels from this evening," Dhruba Sharma of Mega Max TV, a Channel operator of Nepal confirmed to ANI.

尼泊尔电视运营商Mega Max TV的Dhruba Sharma向亚洲国际新闻社证实:“从今晚开始，我们已经切断了印度频道的信号。”

The move by Nepal's Multi-System Operators (MSO) comes hours after former Deputy Prime Minister and Spokesperson of the ruling Nepal Co unist Party (NCP) Narayan Kaji Shrestha said that the Indian media must stop the "baseless propaganda" against Nepal government and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Shrestha expressed his disbelief on the extent to which some media channels have gone to defame the current government.

The move comes amid heightened tensions between India and Nepal after Kathmandu issued a new map incorporating some portions of Indian territories in May.

Nepalese should start subscribing to TV channels like CGTN and papers like Global Times and start learning Mandarin. If Nepalese co unists don't like Indians then let them stop using Indian petrol , cooking gas and Indian commodities. Let them get from and see how much they benefit out of it.
