Completion of the landmark Padma bride project and the launch of a new rail link between Dhaka and Jashore in Bangladesh holds out massive infrastructure and economy benefits for the country. The project has been constructed and funded by China and it highlights rising Chinese investment in Bangladesh's infrastructure and job creation. 作为标志性“一带一路”共建项目，这条被当地人称为“梦想之路”的铁路全线长约170公里。通车后，首都达卡到西南部城市杰索尔的通行时间将由原来的10小时缩短至3小时。同时，该铁路将有力促进沿线地区经济发展。

孟加拉国铁道部相关负责人说，该铁路的商业运营不仅标志着一条新线路的开通，更开启了孟加拉国铁路发展史上的新篇章。

帕德玛大桥铁路连接线项目由中国中铁股份有限公司承建，2023年10月首通段开通运行。
