India skips vote on Ukraine resolutions as US faces setback in UNGA

联合国大会有关乌克兰的决议，印度投弃权票，美国遭遇挫折

Amid high drama at the UN over the 2 resolutions that were brought in the UN General Assembly on the third anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war – one by the US and other by Ukraine and Europe – India abstained from voting on both. Both resolutions were adopted with 93 votes in favour, as EU members seemed to prevail over the Americans in mustering support from the 193-member body for comprehensive peace and for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The voting for the US effort, which sought a swift end to the conflict, was more dramatic as the US itself abstained from voting on a resolution it had sponsored.

在俄乌战争三周年之际，联合国大会上围绕两项决议掀起了轩然大波——一项由美国提出，另一项由乌克兰和欧洲方面提出。在此期间，印度对这两项决议均投了弃权票。两项决议均以93票赞成获得通过。欧盟成员国似乎在争取这个由193个成员国组成的机构的支持方面胜过了美国，得以让旨在实现全面和平以及维护乌克兰主权和领土完整的决议获得通过。

Feel sad about the victims of the war. But What hypocrisy!!! Europe was fine when West Pakistani Muslims were committing genocide in then East Pakistan murdering 3 million people mostly Hindus, 200000 to 400000 women were raped. Not only that, the same brits actively colluded with US and Pakistan and sent the US fifth fleet to attack India. One can only imagine the worsening plight of Indians and Hindus, had it not been Soviet Union’s submarines’ rescue that deterred the US, UK invasion.

In nutshell, Trump is telling Ukraine that if it wants to continue to be on war, it should do so by spending throught its own resources and also pay for the enormous amounts of money it bhas so far paid it in the form of weapons, intelligence, etc. The mode of financing it's war should be Ukraine transferring its resources to a US managed war fund.

India is a WISE customer. Though Ukraine has STEADFASTLY supported India on the Kashmir issue and maintained that it was a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan, Ukraine has also sold Pakistan 320 Ukrainian made Russian designed T-80UD main battle tanks, at around 1997-98 timeframe, for US Dollar 650 million, KNOWING FULL WELL that they would ALL be used ONLY against India. In return, in 2023, as a FRIENDLY GESTURE, Pakistan sent 10,000 MLRS GRAD missiles to Ukraine clandestinely through a German port, and then through Poland on to Ukraine, ho that the Russians won’t find out. But the Russians DID!

In other words, Ukraine does NOT seem to be a very friendly country after all. Therefore, despite the fact that Russia has taken over over 20 percent of the most fertile and mineral rich (worldwide) land of Ukraine, destroyed every building in the country, apart from unnecessarily murdering lakhs and lakhs of innocent Ukrainians, raped tens of thousands of Ukrainian women, kidnapped over three lakhs of Ukrainian children, India is WISE, VERY WISE to stay out of this mess.

I wonder whether any of these resolutions have any meaning. The ground reality is that the people affected want the war to end, and some leaders want to ensure that it continues. UN could not stop sending more than 100000 Ukrainians to the grave and about 250000 people were injured. More than a million people were displaced in the war-torn region. Few leaders in their comfort environment claimed they were not invited to the table for discussions.
