I'm Lizzy. So, I just bought my house in China. I'm so proud of it. But a lot of you have asked me for more information about apartments. So today, I'm going to show you one of my friends' apartments. To be honest, I'm kind of surprised or shocked that she's living here. Also, a lot of you have been asking to get into more detail about the pricing, like the electricity, heating, and all these kind of things. So I'm going to cover that today. So let's go check it out.

So, this is where she lives. As you can see, just like I told you, there is a convenience store outside. It's very convenient for cars to just go in and park. Again, everything works with the camera. So it's important that your car is registered, otherwise you're not allowed to go in. It's very strictly controlled. And then over here is the security gate where I'm going in. But now I have to call her because I cannot get in there.

Like here, as you guys can see, everything works with a card and a code, and it's locked, and I cannot get in. So I'll wait for her.

This is an old community. All the ebikes can stop outside. If you ever plan on moving to China, every single community has a downstairs area where you can charge your ebike and park your ebike. It's safe, or in China, everywhere is safe. So you can literally just park it outside.

She just told me, guys. Guess how much she pays for electricity? She can't even tell me how much she pays per month because she says she loads 100 RMB (I assume you mean yuan here) every like 4 months. And what about the water? How much does she pay for water? Well, it's 100 RMB every 4 months. It is ridiculous. So she literally pays 200 RMB for water and electricity every 4 months. That's insane. That's literally like 600 RMB per year for electricity and for water.

The price of this apartment: She pays 2,200 RMB per month for this apartment. This is just incredible. There's some wine over there. This is very nice. I mean, everything here was all here. 2,200 RMB, that is insane. So here in China.

这套公寓的租金，她每个月为这套公寓支付2200元人民币的房租。这简直令人难以置信。这里真的很不错。我的意思是，这里的一切原本就是这样的。每个月2200元人民币的房租，这太不可思议了。在中国这边的情况就是这样的。

There are brand new modern high rise condos with no rent for the first year! The catch is those free condos are at massive building projects located in remote areas without any shop or food vendors, must drive a long distance to get necessities. May be able to get the property owner to pay to live there!

When I lived in Guangzhou in 2013-2015 my 3 bed apartment cost 3,500RMRB Per month. which included the water and electricity- this was in intang (the Phoenix City gated community, so about 40mins east of the city). Lol, when I got home from a holiday in Singapore late January 2014, that very night my water heater died- with Spring Festival, it was nigh on impossible to get hold of my landlord, and yes, the weather so happened to be freezing, so cold showers! It took weeks to get fixed- I ended up having to stay at cheap dingy hotels in the city for a night just to get a shower ever few days lol!

It is a bargain only RMB 2200 per month for this quality unit, even for Kunming city. There are units renting for less in Kunming but they aren't as big and luxurious as this one.

There are many 1 bed room apartments in Yantai , a tier 2 city, less than $150 a month with brand new forniture, nearby the sea, 30 to 40 min to city center by car or bus. I seldom met people who complained about apartment price or rental price. Many young migrant workers do not mind living a bit far away from city center where they work. if some young people work in big factory, and their dormetry is free for living, of course, they can also rent an apartment nearby the factory.

Rent at 2200rmb seems very affordable, but the question is: what's her monthly income? If her income is 5000rmb per month, then the rent plus utilities would be about half her income, it's not affordable any more
